On June 19th, 1865 (aka Emancipation Day) when Union Troops finally arrived in Galvenston, TX to abolish slavery in America forever!! This was 2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation Act of 1863 was signed by President Abraham Lincoln following the Unions win over the Confederates concluding the Civil War.
On June 17th, 2021, the US Federal Government declared June 19th - Juneteenth as the 11th Federally recognized National Holiday.
